For years, speed has been recognised as one of the three main contributing factors to deaths on our roads. ISA uses a speed sign-recognition video camera and/or GPS-linked speed limit data to advise drivers of the current speed limit and automatically limit the speed of the vehicle as needed.
What is Intelligent Speed Assistance?
- Vehicle receives position information via GPS and current speed limit from a digital map. Can also be combined with video camera sign recognition.
- Speed limit is displayed on the dashboard.
- Driver can override system by pushing harder on accelerator.
- Vehicle helps driver not to speed when speed limit is reached.
