In just a few years, there has been tremendous progress in ergonomics for bus drivers. This concerns the entire environment of the driver: dashboard, seat, steering wheel, etc. Standards define the norms for dashboards.
THE BUS DRIVER'S "COCKPIT"
The high expectations of a driver at his or her workstation provide sufficient requirements to set new standards in the design of the driving position. ACTIA has therefore designed a cab optimised in every detail to meet the needs of the driver, with the benefit of logically arranged and easily accessible control elements and clear, easy-to-understand and always perfectly readable dashboards.
ACTIA offers a new generation, customisable driving position. It integrates easily into all bus and coach models. Ergonomic and adjustable, it allows the driver to have the main features (buttons and combination controls) at hand.
ACCESSIBILITY OF DRIVING FUNCTIONS
The central element is the LCD screen, which allows the driver to constantly monitor the main service and diagnostic data, as well as all messages relating to the vehicle. The location of the control buttons is carefully studied. The functions most commonly used in operation are very quickly accessible. This is for example the case of the door control buttons.
PODIUM 2 FLAGSHIP PRODUCT
Podium is modular workplace concept for city and intercity buses which offers a high degree of customisation. Podium can easily be adapted to different use cases in compliance with all ergonomic, safety and usability requirements according to VDV and EBSF (European Bus System of the Future) standards. It has already attracted major European and even international bus manufacturers.
